Re: snowmaster fridge sale

Post by Peter Vee »

Went to Snomaster in Edenvale on Saturday morning, had a look at all their stuff... chatted to Shane and he confirmed they have plenty of stock on the new 60lt and that promo price of R5500 is on till end of June.. the 80lt is only R500.00 more... great prices and great quality.

Only mistake I made was to go in my flatcar so could not decide.. clearly did not have enough coffee , am going back with my Troll to see which fits best and then buy.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter, I was there too, also still deciding on which one would be best - the 60ltr with 2 compartments looked good, but size is deceptive - doesnt look like 60ltr volume to me  .

Let us know which one you choose and why.

Guys.... I took the 80L, and in hind sight I probably should have taken the 60L. The main reason is maneuverability in and out the back of the Patrol. I have a drawer system in and the sliding ( left hand side ) top of the drawer system will not pull out with the fridge in place( the left hand corner of the patrol body (not the door) wont allow the fridge to slide past. So I put the fridge in on the right hand side, which then allows the lid to open from inside a little easier ( don't have to twist your hand around backwards between the side window) ...... BUT.... the fridge is quite high, and the lid can only be lifted high enough ( on mine with the drawer system) to get a 2L Coke out sideways. Is it a problem..... well no I load that thing full with EVERYTHING that would have gone in an ammo box...... but I cannot use the baskets that come with the fridge cause unless I take the fridge out I cannot get to the stuff at the bottom ( lid not lifting high enough in the car). I may try chat to Shane and see if we can make an arrangement to swap mine for the 60L single compartment.

other than that.... fantastic

I'm going to be at Bass lake on the 30th June ( see this post......... http://www.nissan4x4.co.za/forum/forum_ ... PN=1&TPN=2 )and will have my fridge in the back. So if you guys want to, come through and have a look and then see if the 80L can work for you with the setup you may have in the back)

Sno Master Dimensions are as follows;

Dual control 80ltW (W) 640mm x (D) 470mm x (H) 620mm
80lt - 720mm x 530mm x 525mm

60lt - (W) 650mm x (D) 450mm x (H) 545mm
Dual control 60lt - (W) 670mm x (D) 480mm x (H) 530mm

Based on the above I am going to choose the model that is most accessible given my Troll also has an Outback rollerdrawer in... the 80lt single compartment "looked" more compact... however it is going to be a case of parking at the factory and testing for fit.

Watch this space....

The 80 is tempting though - 30% more space for R500

i like the idea of 2 controls >>>>when fishing in moz i make everyting freeser to get bait and meat to camp ,once there i put it in freeser and make half frige and other half freeser ,a person needs to look at it >>>any frige is better than no frige or cooler boxes as long as it works in your patrol ,i have a simmalar set up as peter c where all my drawers are on top on the one side so headspace is not a problem
For me it works well in a sence that when driving i can get to the frige for a coke and the freeser is at the back when cooking behind the car .
a frige is a big investment and needs to work for more than one use . i dont have a slide on mine so see what works for you .
the power that the 60 uses compared to the 80 is more or less the same depends on the amout of times you open the doors i might be wrong
has both got the danfoss compressors ??????
i also think that stainless is not a big issue >>>>never heard of a frige rusting
