Andries doesn't the TJM have a fixed head? Lots of guys like turning the head around in convoy conditions?
My only concern with a metal snorkel is that it's going to bake more in the sun, so the air will not be as cool when it gets to the engine? Probably very little difference though.
Now this is a snorkel

Andries,
On GU's the snorkel body does not travel down the fender as the GQ's. Safari are in my mind the best as they are there for the application and not just for aesthetics.

Re: Now this is a snorkel
Bv.

So ignoreer asseblief helfte van my onakurate informasie

Re: Now this is a snorkel
Jacques, there will never be any "proof" that a snorkel's head needs to be turned around under the conditions we are likely to experience. However, common sense dictates that it will make some difference to how much dust reaches your air filter in conditions where you are driving in a dust cloud, such as when overtaking somebody on a dirt road or driving in the rear of a convoy. It works on exactly the same principle as a cyclonic filter. Dust is heavier than air, so when the air turs around to enter the snorkel's mouth, the dust tends to carry straight on.jwilkinson wrote:Ek het onlangs die TJM vir my Patrol gekry. However, the difference is probably small, you still have an air filter and 80% of the reason we put on snorkels is probably easthetic, so go ahead!
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.
