50/500 PPM

Post by Izak »

Hello All

I know that this subject has been adressed before and will be again, as it was on the WEGRY Facebook page over the weekend.

One gentleman posted the following statement:

ENG:
"....long term, the 50 is softer on your injectors. Unfortunately it is not available everywhere and it's expensive. You can overcome by fitting a finer micron diesel filter. It's much cheaper anyway". (My :rolling: and Google translation)

AFR:
"....op langtermyn is die 50 'sagter' op jou injectors. Ongelukkig is dit nie oral beskikbaar nie en dis duur. Jy kan dit oorkom deur 'n fyner mikron dieselfilter te pas. Dis in elkgeval baie goedkoper."

Now the question?? What is a Finer Micron Filter, does it work ???

Regards

Finer micron filters are simply what they say , the filtering part is finer blocking more particles they are available by companies like RACOR and i have customers swearing by it and even claims better fuel consumption from it

I dont know have never used it and cant see a filter increasing my fuel consumption or decreasing the sulphur content in my diesel but hey im also on here to learn so lets see what the experts say

soort van sort of agree with Grootseun there -- the sulphur in the diesel - once it is there, cant be removed by jst filtering .. [its like trying to filter Brannewyn en Coke OF Koffie en melk .. as dit eers klaar gemeng het ...]

BUTTTTTTTT / MAAR - The oil can be filtered "finer" ?? [now I need a slimkop ??]

Sakkie - baas, do you put two-stroke oil or "injector cleaner" between fill ups?

As for 50 vs 500 ppm - I ALWAYS fill with 50 ppm IF available - and if NOT, i put in more 2-stroke oil .. But then, Boezman is no youngster and was designed in the days of 2000ppm [or some such]

Oom Mac, ek gooi net 50PP in as daar is, en as daar nie is nie gooi ek net genoeg in om my by die volgende 50PP te kry. Gooi altyd 2-stroke in, selfs as ek net R500 of so ingooi. Obviously net minder of meer, maar altyd.

Het al van Knysna to in Plett gery om by die Sasol buite Plett in te gooi.

Doen ook nou so met Ghisnene se T5 VW.

Mooi bly en groete vir Dwergie.
