Peter,
Thank you for adding a lot to my learning curve - I enjoyed flying military choppers but know just enough about vehicles and mechanics to be dangerous
I'm communicating with Herrie and will "prompt" him for the electronic manual
Herrie,
Thank you, I'm getting the trokkie back today and will check on the coil springs
I will definately take you up on the manual on CD!
L28? Help plse
Thank you again
Thank you very much!
I checked earlier on and it definately has leaf springs at both ends; also checked the seatbelt tag and it is dated 06/1998
Probably a 1998 model then and registerd in 1999 only
Thank you for the info on the L28 engine too
Thank you all again! My reply got lost due to bad signal on the farm, trying again!
I was fortunate enough to meet up with Herrie in Pta North; he blessed me with a maintenance CD and I learnt a great deal more from him - thank you Herrie, that was super and it was a privilege meeting you! He also took a good look at the Patrol
Got the Patrol back from the tech, some minor issues - its definately been involved in a few fender benders as well although nothing major. It has a LSD but indications are that its not functioning presently
Quite keen to have it for use on the game farm and also to help with the move from Pta - the 4 tonne trailer behind the SFA doesn't quite do it?!
Its now up to the owner and myself to find common ground
Getting closer ito becoming a proud Patrol owner!
Had a look at the Safari on the farm as well; Model code UMG160GSU, L28 engine (before they replaced it with the Chev engine). Need to find the registration certificate though to access more info
We have a mix of Cruisers, Land Rovers and Nissans in our stable - would like to standardise as far as possible ito the functional/work vehicles. Would be an interesting exercise
