Patrol hunting low mileage 4.8 felt pap

Went Patrol hunting today (+-5). The first one has around 80k km 2008 model. The engine idled fine but that twist or motion you get when you tap the pedal was absent. We drove through some small hills and the car felt really pap on the power part. As this was the first Patrol my dad tried he wasn't impressed and said CRD's spoilt him.

We looked at another with 180k km 2004 also good nick and it's rev response was instant, body twisted too. We have a test drive booked on Friday, is there any reason you guys can think of for the pap feeling one? I know we are in the highveld and today was hot but his 2l diesel xtrail flew up the same hill.

What should we check out for on the trol? The dash does have bubbles on the 04, any chance of Nissan replacing?

On the 4.8 being 'pap' I can only think that it might have a blocked catalitic converter ??? Does it rev well?

I doubt it that Nissan will replace the dash on a 2004 as it is outside the six year period but it won't hurt to call Nissan and ask. Give them the VIN.

Can be a lot things .....feul filter airfilter ect put it on 4gas anilizer and you will find out

Engine didn't rev easily felt sticky. Had full nissan service history and only 80k hence why I didn't suspect filters.

80 000km , blocked cat is not impossible , but i agree with Tinus get it on a 4 gas and see what the combustion process looks like
