Morning all,
I am busy with a few ideas for inside the engine compartment of my 4.8.
Next on the list is a snorkel, and I am looking to learn a little about the routing/placement of the pipes and filter housing.
May I ask those of you that have a snorkel fitted, be it TJM/Safari/home made or any other brand to take a photo of the engine compartment and post it here?
I have searched the forum and found mostly pics of the Snorkel itself...
Thanks in advance

Re: Snorkels
Hello Adrian
When fitting the correct snorkel, there is no change under the bonnet. The standard air filter has a pipe into the wheelwell, between the inner and outer wings and outside the engine bay. The snorkel attaches directly to this, so all the changes are inside the wheelwell.

Re: Snorkels
I figured as much, I was just hoping that there were some that have re-routed the plumbing but used the original components.
It is a bummer as there is alot of space being taken up there by the filter housing and piping.
Thanks for the reply Peter!

Re: Snorkels
look you must realize that your car needs a air filter and the snorkel only brings cleaner cool air in from the top it does not replace any filters ect
there are more than one also you have the Donaldson the big round one and then there are some more sponge on the way to the motor
i have the iron man one witch looks the same as safari just 500 cheaper but cost more to fit so comes to the same
maybe speak to snorkel king on forum ?
my fuel consumption has dropped since the snorkel on hot sand and when i am traveling slowly in the bush this is because of cooler clean air.
nothing to write home about but the car responds better so its not only for water crossings
