Kevin I am not an expert on the use of Vodka, but have identified the following areas where it might be usefull, please can you add any I have missed:
1) To use instead of Carb Cleaner.
2) To use instead of fuel.
3) To inspire the driver/mechanic to better use the rock.
4) To burn the evidence.
?
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

I saw a black one (G-Wagon) in Somerset west the other day. The interior looks pretty spartan and the shape is not really appealing. After reading the article in Drive-Out and seeing the price it holds no attraction for me.

5) To make hitting the rock/using the wrong kind of fuel/getting stuck in a -40C snowdrift seem like less of a concern
6) Assistance in connecting driver/mechanic/potential mate
7) Universal solvent (see 6 above)

This is a great thread!

I almost replaced my landy with this : http://www.mb4x4.co.za/forum/showthread ... -Red-300GE.

I test drove it and found that the engine felt underpowered (although I was use to a chunky 4 litre V8). I was really impressed with the technology it had for it's age (you could engage low range, front and rear lockers while in motion) since it was built in the 80's. Maybe for it's time it was groundbreaking, but as mentioned previously in this thread, other models have caught up . Since they are so rare, they are really expensive and you have to pay top dollar to get one in a decent condition. Luckily my wife and friend talked me out of it and I ended up with my mighty Patrol - I decision I do not regret!

However, like jules, I find there is something really appealing about the shape and history of the g-wagen and especially how they have really kept everything simple and minimalistic.
Regards

I agree....nice thread!

It seems that there is just as much perception and emotion involved with "love for G-Wagon" and just as little factual/technical knowledge than with most other manufacturers of vehicles.

Hi Tinus! Something similar called...werk,werk,werk....! However, I have to admit that my passion and energy for the forum declined since I am not a Patrol owner any more. It is sad but true. (I know the answer from the floor will be ...THEN GET A PATROL AGAIN!) In the same breath, and along this thread, it is nice to be exposed to other views, opinions, believes and passion as well...and to find out that hey exist and are well and alive. a Friend of mine once told his bride on their wedding day..."do not worry, there is life beyond cycling". Up to that point her life centered around her cycling career. This does not take away the fact that cycling is a good sport with more positives than negatives. I will therefore always check in.
