I have picked my van up from the gearbox specialist and the problem is still there.
Not nearly as bad as it was before the service but it is there.
The gearbox is definatly smoother when selecting drive or reverse and the drive seems alot more responsive.
Cost R1000 bokkies so not too bad.
I tested the van around town for half an hour and tried all the usual roads that I travel and also uphills and downhills, with the aircon on and off and in 2 wheel high and 4 wheel high and the problem is there all the time except for when I stop on an uphill.
It is definatly a softer bump when the aircon is off and/or the road is level...
If I roll to a stop in neutral there is no thump which I can say eliminates the diff's? Or is it that there is no tension on the diffs and so eliminating the thump?
Also if I come to a stop with my foot off the accelerator long befor I apply the brake and then roll to a complete stop at a very slow speed with my foot very lightly on the brake there is no bump.

I am completely stumped with this one and would appreciate any further ideas/sugestion's.
