Hi all, my solenoid "actuator?" only the bottom section is working, would it be possible to repair the top half, it looks like it is two seperate units, will take picture and post

Hi. Jules as dit op die diff is. Is dit een eenheid en jy moet die diff strip om hom uit te kry en word as n eenheid verkoop slegs op spesiale order van nissan. Of vat n kans en as jy hom uit gestrip het buig die geseelde lip oop (versigtig )die ding lyk soos n stuk binneband. plak dan met pachskid alby kante. Dit werk en spaar R8000 by agente.
As dit die twee vacum units is die by gearmax tekoop lyk net anders maar werk net so goed vir onder R500 vir alby

Jules I remember reading that somebody on this forum has managed to fix one once, not sure where I saw it though?

It could very well just be some dirt stuck in it somewhere, maybe it is worth disconnecting all the connections and blowing compressed air into all the ports one at a time to see if you can get it "unstuck"?

Hallo Almal,

Hier is heelwat gesê en 'n paar manne het al die oplossing gekry, maar wat interresant was was dat iemnd 'n dubbel twee-rigting klep oplossing gebruik het.

Eerstens, my GQ het met 'n Hitachi klep uitgekom, en een van die solnoids was moeg, dan skop die ewenaargrendel in maar wil nie weer ontsluit nie. Mens kan maklik toets of die solenoids nog in werkende toestand is deur die weerstand oor die twee te meet, beide behoort eenderse lesings te gee. My een solenoid het 'n oop stroombaan getoon, wat aantoon dat die "coil" iewers beskadig was.

My tydelike oplossing was om die ewenaargrendel heeltyd aan te loos, en as ek wou hê dit moes ontsluit het ek die pypies op die klep-kontrole omgeruil, so 'n tipe van 'n "manual switch".

Ek het dit toe vervang met 'n mac-klep - sjoe, mens kon sommer sien dit is nog ou-skool made in the usa materiaal - selfs die boksie se ontwerp en logo etc lyk 30-jaar oud. Dit is bloot 'n kombinasie-klep wat bestaan uit twee eenrigting kleppe asook 'n "release valve", wat dit onnodig maak om die rigting van die vakuum om te draai om te ontsluit. Onthou net om 'n filter oor die "release-valve" uitlaat te plaas, anders kan daar gaggas inkom.

Charles Duckitt weet ek het ook 'n modifikasie gemaak en twee enkel-kleppe langs mekaar gemonteer, volgens hom het dit ook goed gewerk.

Met die Mac-klep skakel die ewenaar by luier-toere oor, heen en weer. As dit nie die geval is nie, moet mens net effens vorentoe of agtertoe terwyl jy draai, dan kan die koppelaar-meganisme van die grendel se tande verby mekaar kom en skop dit ook onmiddelik in.

My GQ het ook nie 'n beperking dat die voertuig in 4x4 moet wees om ewenaar-grendel te kan aktifeer nie - wees egter versigtig om dit saam met LR te gebruik, die hoeveelheid wringkrag kan dan maklik die ontwerk sterkte van die aandryf-stelsel (ewenaar, dryf-aste, universele skakels etc) oorskry - klim maar uit en draai die nawe, dit is in alle opsigte (bande, slytasie, brandstof) goedkoper.

Ek sal eerdaags 'n foto van die mac-klep soos gemoonteer plaas.

Oh and by the way, everything else is in perfect working order i.e. solenoid, diaphragm and pipes. Only when this happened the difflock got stuck in the open position, which is how I bought the vehicle.
