Patrol Radiator suppliers in Cape Town

Post by SRXy »

Hi all,

I'm struggling to get a replacement radiator (3rd party) for my Patrol and I'm trying to avoid having to have one built from scratch (since the costs get a bit insane then). It's a GU/Y61 TD42 and I was wondering if anyone here has gone through the mission of replacing their radiator recently and what did it cost? I'd appreciate any help with this...

Hi SRXy,

Did you get a solution on your radiator problem yet. I got mine back from a good cleanup and service and I am quite happy with the service. But it might be a problem for you because they are in Joburg. But still believe it will worth a try.

Talk to Steve at Thermo Radiators - (011) 826 5022. They clean, recore and build radiators.

Regards.

Hi...thanks. My core was giving notice so a cleaning wouldn't have helped. I ended up getting a Brass tank and copper body 45mm unit customed made by Magnum radiators (in Stikland, Cape Town) for R3900. It's a beast of a thing and required a small amount of under bonnet modifying to fit. It's working 100%....and nice to have something that I can actually have fixed by any bush mechanic if the need arises.

That's good news, glad you found a solution. Did you replaced hoses as well? If so, where did you find them?

Regards
