GU TB45 breaking for spares
Hizit Lads,
http://capetown.gumtree.co.za/c-Cars-Ve ... Z265295939
Been to have a look at a vehicle been broken for spares on behalf of Dave Jones (forum member) who showed interest in the rear bumper (sale pending). The Engine and gearbox is sold however the transfer case and all else is still available including all interior trim.
After arriving at the lot i realised that this was the same vehicle i had been to see about 2 months ago (whilst looking for a window seal) , however, the previous owner Andrew, who had bought the wreck at R37 000, buggered me around and was unreasonable at best, in the end only tried to sell the vehicle in totality.
The new owner Juan, is a very reasonable guy, based on the brief moments we chatted, and seems to be negotiable and willing to compromise on a fair price that works well for both parties.
For anyone interested that is not able to view (out-of towners ), take note...
The vehicle was in a front/left side collision
Axles seem good by eye but who knows
Steering linkages were pushed back till touch front diff (mark on front pumpkin)
Chassis just been straightened/pulled in order to move vehicle
rear seems good , no worries
interior also seems good
Anyway, just thought i'd share with you guys in case someone is looking for stuff.
Juan said he had tried to get onto the forum but was never granted access, so , based on the fact that he seemed a nice enough guy, i told him i would post this here.
Please do not query the rear bumper as Dave is still in negotiations regarding this item.....
Cheers folks
Russ

Russ, I bought the engine & gearbox. Did it look in good shape? Also thinking about getting both axles...

Re: GU TB45 breaking for spares
Hizit Sias,
I didn't open the bonnet to look, but most of the impact was to the right/front fairly low down, thats why the steering linkages are pushed back, engine might well be good in this case, i couldn;t tell you myself though.
Axles seem ok, but i would have them checked first for accuracy as the front linkages did end up touching the front diff pumpkin.
Cool man....

Re: GU TB45 breaking for spares
Hi Russ,
Do you know if that Patrol has a back left tail light in good condition? Like davejones, I'm up here in Jhb. I would like to bug you if possible to send the tail light up to me if the price is reasonable from Jaun. I can either eft funds to you or to Jaun. I would prefer to send it to you though. I will be happy to cover your running around costs and obviously the counter to counter costs.

Hey Ricster,
I agree with G-man - Juan is a really good guy and dealings with him will no doubt end happily for both parties.
Will gladly help if i can, but give him a call, he'll sort you out one time.
Best
Russ
