Y60/GQ Spark plugs

Post by Rudolph »

Hi there,

Does any know where one can buy after market spark plugs in the Gauteng area for 4.2l SGL. Current wires on mine is 8mm stainless steal high performance wires. Already tried Autozone no success. Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Rud' now you confuse me - the spark plugs should be NGK - BPM6es -- the HT leads going to it should not matter? Any Midas outlet should have - or I prefer to deal with PART MAN [more friendly & informed & "hulpvaardig"] (referring to the Menlyn branches of said instances] (though my discount at Midas is better :-0
Or am I totally misdirected as to the plugs on the 4.2 engine????

According to the Nissan manual, the standard plug type for the carb fed TB42 motor is BP5ES with a gap of 0.8 to 0.9mm. It states that you could also use the hotter BP4ES plug or colder BP6ES or BP7ES. Note that these are not resistor plugs.

Eish, smaak my da was 'n gremlin gewees.

Sterkte

O-ja, 'Sparxx" - gaan loer hier in: http://www.sparxx.co.za/index.php?cPath=608_185_6195

Hallo Marnus,

Sorry ek sien nou eers jou vraag. Die totale skade was R1 715 incl vat.

Rotor = R 127
Cap = R 197
HT Leads R1 096

Groete,
Rudolph

Would it be better to fit hotter spark plugs when doing more short distance driving? (BP4ES)
