New 2 inch lift with pictures

Post by Rocstompa »

When I purchased the patrol I checked the suspension, I had Ironman coils front and back with TJM shocks the front being recomended for the defender.I didnt know the history of this suspension so I decided to fit a full new setup.I decided to go with the EFS 2 inch lift after looking around. My measurments before and after are listed below with some photos of before and after.Remember the before measurements are taken with a 2 inch lift already installed and with the new suspension it will have to settle.I also went with the heavy duty coils front and rear as I am running with a duel battery, compressor, fogs(although not to heavy) and ARB bumber with winch up front.I plan to fit the drawer system with aftermarket rear bumper to the back.

Front left = 820/840
front right = 810/840
Rear left = 830/865
Rear right = 810/855

These 33,s just look too small .

They apparently imported 3 x 2inch lift kits for the patrols of which I took 1.

That looks great doesn't it?
But there is something about the Patrol, and particularly the Y61 IV that just make big wheels look tiny isn't it?

The ride is strangely enough slightly softer even with the heavy duty coils fitted. There is also slightly less body roll on cornering. One thing that I found interesting is that the new coils are are +/- 17mm and the old coils are +/- 19mm.

One thing I must say is that there are 30mm spacers in the rear and 15mm spacers in the front in the new suspension.

Happy so far.

Nice! Noticeably higher...now to test. Remember the pics with the sliders fitted once done, eager to see them on as well.
