FLYWHEEL

Post by Flashingstar »

Hey guys and girl,

I desperately need a flywheel for my Nissan Patrol GX 4.5 1997 Model. I had to replace the clutchplate, and Nissan found that the flywheel had blue heatmarks all over it. They have to order one from Japan I think which will take a week or so. Canot wait that long, as I'm supposed to leave for Moz next week.

New or used, please. Nissan said they have to skim 3mm of the current one, which will make it basically unusable.

My number is 0829208669 or mail xmp@netactive.co.za

Hello Hannes

Is there a difference between the flywheel's of the diesel and Petrol models???? I am clueless with these things but I have an extra flywheel that came off my 3.0L diesel motor that blew. Other problem is I am in Cape Town - I see you stay in Centurion.

If it could work for you we could always make a plan with an overnight courier.

Hello Pieter,

Thank you for your response. I will find out and come back to you. Do you perhaps have the Vin number of the vehicles it comes from? Cape town is not a problem. At this point in time the world is not a problem. I'm fairly desperate to have the vehicle fixed, as it is currently disassembled and with Nissan and i have to leave in a few days time for an already fully paid holiday in Moz. Who wants a discounted holiday at Bonito Bay in Mozambique?

Hi Hannes

I tried to phone you yersterday as well just after I made the post - your cell was just ringing though. Yeah you are sitting in a bit of a predicament.....I really hope you will get sorted out.

My vehicle's vin no is JN1TESY61Z0520715

I will also check for you with the guy who did the convesion on vehicle from the 3.0L diesel to the 4.2 diesel engine I have in there now - Tour de Frans on our forum he is quite clued up with the Patrol and vehicles in general - he is a qaulified mechanic and has been doing conversions and rebuild of vehicles for a number of years.

But my cell no is also under my signature - should you come right an the flywheel will work for you you can always just phone me to get the ball rolling.

Good Luck

Hannes,

I must apologise to you - and hugely!!

It is not a flywheel I am sitting with - it is the flexplate from my 3.0L. Frans helped me right today and told me mine is a flexplate - not a fywheel - my 3.0L was an auto which does not have a flywheel like manual vehicles.

Blondie got his terminology screwed up again - but I am learning fast.

So sorry about this - but does not seem I will be able to help you in anycase.

Hope you do come right though.....you have a nice holiday waiting fr you.
