4.8 GRX Help needed

Post by Rocstompa »

Gents if anyone could give me suggestions I would appreciate it.

When coming to a stop with my 2006 4.8 GRX auto there is sometimes a knock that is felt either just before stopping or just after stopping. This knock is not felt if I come slowly to a stop.I have checked all the obvious possibilities like driveshaft play, fuel tank being loose, suspension movement( Am replacing within two weeks) and sway bars .I still dont get an answer.

Is it not coming from the gearbox when it selects first? - feels like a 'thud' - Mine does that sometimes when the aircon fan is on and the idling is slightly higher.

Thanks Tinus but its not the battery, I checked

It is a thud that I feel but normally coming to a stop. It does feel as if it is coming from the gearbox because If i put my hand on the gearlever when stopping I can feel the thud through the lever.

It sounds like the same thing, but being a new patrol driver it does'nt feel right.

Thanks for the help guys.

dont worry.

Its normal. If you slow down ,just before stopping dead, lift slightly foot from brake and it will not do it.

I hear you...those Landy drivers sometimes knows far too much! No disresepct to Landy drivers on the forum...

When you get your Patrol kitted let me know, I am busy with mine as we speak...had a "slight" accident 2 days ago and left the road so want to try and squeeze out a bumper replacement amongst others. Hopefully will all be sorted before end November just been far too busy with other things on my plate.
