As for the clutch - get a quote from a reputable dealer - give it to the firs bl***m that botched his job - and inform him of YOUR rights in terms of the newe consumer act. [yu dont even need a layer] - and let them pay for the repair..

 Any idea what is going on? I only know how older cars work so I am not much technical help, but remember a diesel needs "fuel, air and compression" to operate.

And I'd be having a serious talk with the mechanic, as this is getting ridiculous. Kind of hard for me to help you with that when I am in Darkest Ukraine.

Hello Margo

Why is it that the only girl on the forum has the patrol that misbehaves most? Do you think she's jealous of you? Perhaps she is just the hell in because she doesn't get out into the bush enough? You must understand that the patrol is the only car you can buy today that is happier in the bush than in town

So what did it do this time, and do you need any help? (I am not prepared to help burn it or to shoot it full of holes though.)
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Did it backfire and idle terribly??? Mine did it twice in the 3 years I have it - all I did was to switch it off, waited about a minute, started it again and it carries on with no problem. Still don't know why it did that.

Hey Guys :(

Dont know why she is misbehaving so badly, i give her soooooooo much tlc! Anyway, the fuses popped again. And when tried to replace, the new ones just popped. My baby is currently at Auto Electricians, with the dashboard in pieces and everything in engine taken out. They are now tracing every single wire in my car to find out where the short is. So, im 'ing that it gets done quickly and comes back soon!!!!

Hi Margo

When did the problem with the fuse start, only after the clutch was replaced?
If so, the auto electrician must check for wires that could have been damaged or pinched while the gearbox was removed and re-installed.
My experience with pinched wires is that it doesn't always blow the fuse. The vibrations of the car cause the wire to short now and then and then the fuse blows.

Regards
Johan

Definitely sounds like the auto electricians were not doing their job if they just replaced fuses instead of tracking down why the fuses were blowing and fixing that problem.

I smell a RAT ... could it be that a rat has chewed on the wiring?
Just remebered - had same ****ble with my patrol in Kgalagadi - Luckily I had Ivor Kruger with me and he had a "meggar" [whatever the hell that my be] and he found the fault without stripping the harness -- it was a wire to the headlamps that chafed through where it passed through a hole in the fender ... no grommet in place. Sometime in the past somebody worked there and in fitting the spots .. never put the grommet back - Blxmze sleg mekki wat nie sy werk kon / wou doen nie. - Now - IF I were alone in those dunes, it could've cost me my life .. all for a little grommet. THAT is the scary part of of "BAD workmanship"
