Hello Peter

I think there will be a lot of interest in a front Skidplate on the Patrol. As I have no knowledge as to how much work this will be for you I was wondering if you would be interested in testing the water on that matter. I am doing this to my own advantage because the price difference between yours and any other skidplate is huge.

Thanx

Izak

Hello Izak

Give me a little while. I am busy with a swing-out awning and a new type of spare wheel carrier for Oom Mac, then I want to do some decent rocksliders, and then I will tackle this.

By the way the laser cutters are nearly finished, then I just need to collect from them and weld together.

Regards
Peter

Hello David

The actual runners will be 76x38mm hot-rolled channel iron, flared at the ends to look better and with 40mm square tube welded to the ends to act as high-lift jack points. It's the mounting points I still have to figure out. I am also going to try to design them to fit both Y60 and Y61's. Preliminary investigations carried out so far makes this seem possible.

Stefan our older Y60's have got proper army trailer hitches bolted to the back, which make great recovery points. I assume you are talking about recovering other guys, seeing as you drive a Patrol and they don't get stuck? :rolling: I am not sure if these are available somewhere, but the bolt spacing used on the hooks fitted to the newer patrols look the same although I have not measured.

However I am at some point going to build a replacement rear bumper for Oom Mac. I beleive your car is the same shape as Oom Mac's? I always put lots of recovery points and jacking points on my bumpers.

All the Patrols I have looked at have a beefy hook bolted to the front of the chassis if you like recovering in reverse.

On my car I built a bullbar with lots of recovery and jacking points.

Cheers
Peter

Heij daa P-'ter
me thinks that most of us [ingesluite ekke] misuse the trem "recovery point" - me thinks that is mostly meant to be "hi-lift jack points"
Or is my assumption wrong here?

I saw a very neat "home built" rockslider set-up today .. [sal dit oppi muil goij en vi i stier .. op i-muil  ]
