OK Capies
Are we going to take Peter up on his offer and produce the jobs here in CT?
Peter I would like to take you up on the offer of the CAD drawings please.
G-man, gaan jy vir ons maak?
I would first like to make a cardboard template to check whether it will fit the 4.8 manual gearbox combo!
(I am assuming you used the GRX auto as design base).
Thanks Peter and well done! Now for that gap filler between the ARB bumper and the axle!
Herbie

Re: Transfer Case Skidplate
Hello Ladies and Gents
I am rather surprised at the interest, thanks. Unfortunately, one of the potential purchasers is in a bit of a hurry, so I would like to get this ball rolling. Therefore I would like to order on Friday. Anybody who has paid a deposit of at least R300 into my account (Standard Bank Florida, Branch code 5641, account no. 62742191) and sent me proof by Friday 08h00 will get one. I will confirm total price by latest Monday but it should not exceed R600.00
Herbie, I designed it originally to fit my car, which is a 1996 4.2 Manual. It has been succesfully fitted to the following combinations:
Y60 4.2 Petrol Manual
Y60 4.2 TDI Manual (Is that right Grant?)
Y61 3.0 TDI Auto
Y61 4.5 Manual
Y61 4.8 Auto
What is important to note is that it fits onto the chassis, not the gearbox, and therefore I would be surprised if it doesn't fit. You are welcome to make a template although I would recommend masonite (hardboard) rather than cardboard. However I beleive 5 minutes with a tape measure and an old shirt should answer the question. Check as follows: On the cross-member under the chassis onto which the gearbox mounts, there should be two holes clse to the ends. These holes should be at least 10mm diameter and they should be roughly 863mm apart centre to centre. About 388mm backwards from there there should be a hole in the bottom of each chassis rail. These should be at least 12mm diameter and about 1047mm apart side to side. The hooks in the skidplate hook into these holes. No part of the gearbox should hang below the bottom of the cross member. If all the above is in place, it should fit fine.
Please PM me a suitable EMail address and I will dispatch a runner with the drawings in his cleft stick.
