Jeanvn Jean van Niekerk
1. Name: Full Name (Nickname/Registered Name) Jean van Niekerk Jeanvn
2. Birthday and Age: 8 January, 38
3. Town and Country of residence: Mossel Bay, ZA
4. Home Language: Afrikaans
5. Occupation/Business: CEO of a fairly large company
6. Family status: Married with two kiddos
7. Membership - Other 4X4 Clubs and Forums: 4x4 Community, Old Wheeler, but we are only 3 in the Garden Route, not sure if that counts.
8. Current 4x4s: 2019 Nissan Patrol 5.6, 200 Cruiser, P38 Range Rover
9. Current Mods: The Nissan is still standard, Cruiser is modded for playing, P38 is a constantly broken POS, but it has some nice muds on it.
10. Mods on wish list: For the Nissan I will look at a lift, bigger tyres, protection and rock sliders, and probably a type of vps, it is damn wide for trails.
11. Vehicle on wish list: I have a bit of a car addiction, but I would love a box shape 4.2 petrol Patrol at some stage along with about 10 other brands as well.
12. Previous 4x4's: Going back from most recently sold, Ford Everest LTD (the worst 4x4 I have ever owned, 20 inch mags just doesn't work on trails), Amarok v6 and before that a 2l (sucky 4x4s you need low range), 105 Cruiser modded but made trails too easy, Jeep Wrangler TJ modded but made trails too easy, a Maroon Triton slightly modded, was a thing of beauty but was a bit compromised on trails, and then a couple of others I am pretty ashamed off like a Tuna 4x4, it all started with a Defender 90, it was a POS that broke down a lot but I loved it to bits.
13. Last 3 offroad or overland destinations: Local trails, Bonniedale, Paradise, Burchells, etc
14. Your favourite destination: I really want to do Baboons again
15. Other hobbies: I seem to be mostly working these days either at work, fixing up a 75 year old house in between the kids sport etc, but I am playing with imports at the moment which I find fun.
16. GPSr and Map Data used: The ones in the cars
17. Rate your 4X4 and overlanding experience: Rookie

Re: Jeanvn Jean van Niekerk
Welcome Jean
Ek neem aan jy beplan nie om rowwe goed te doen met die Y62 nie?
In Australie word dit nou meer en meer gebruik op trails.
The 4.2 petrol Patrol is easily found, but most available in the market now need a bit of attention given their age.
Those that are well looked after, are rare.
As of 'vps', what is that? Vehicle protection?
And, I recall driving with you and a few others at Moordkuil when that was still open. 10 years ago I think.
You had a triton single cab called 'Softroadertjie'
I do not think it is fair to describe yourself as "Rookie" anymore.

Ek sien myself nog as 'n rookie, ek neuk gewoonlik erens in waar mens nie moet nie.
