I did a portion of my rear brake system from the proportioning valve to the brakes, as well as my entire front end over on the Sani with Safari axles not too long back. Easy to assemble the hoses as you need them after you cut them to the exact length you need following the routing you want. Straight forward AN3 teflon braided hose right down to AN3 Banjo fittings. They can even supply the bonjo bolts and various clamps to route the hose. I did pull the braised hose through sections of PVC clear hose in places I thought I may get too much chafing and possible damage where it passed very close to suspension parts. Easy to build and I only had one leak that gave me some problems that got fixed by using PTFE tape where it turned into the original Nissan T block on the rear diff.

If you doing it yourself and not having to pay labour, it probably works out the same as having some "pro shop" doing it for you, but you get a better hose and fittings system that you can actually carry spares for, and fix with not much more than a good side cutter, a few spare ferrules, and a 13mm, or was that a 12mm, spanner. Can't remember, take both.

I could never have asked a brake shop to run my hoses along a Panhard bar or a leaf spring, to make sure they work well with articulation. Learning how to do it at home arms you with the skill to fix stuff in the bush when "professional" services are way out of reach. My exercise cost me less than R4k in January. I ran out of AN3 pipe because I seem to have a problem using a measuring device and need to complete the last run between my proportioning valve and master cylinder.
