Good day all,Thank you for the replies and goodwill.
Russ,my Patrol made more power in the std form,after I tweaked it before the turbo.It made one kw less what the nissan factory turbo made.The torque were much less,but more than std.(n.a.)I allso believe before a mod on any engine to make sure the engine is on spec.It worhless to mod a engine and its power are not spot on in std form.
For what its worth,the nissan factory turbo 4.2 do not make heaps of power more,the torque are better but only enough to make the price fair for their setup.Anyway...
I will work on any engine including the 4.2.I like them and they are tuff.I did not desighn them,but will maintain them if one cross my path again.I am looking after Pieter's one.

Nou ja,na baie besluite en kopkrap,het ek besluit op n enjine.Pierre(freakazoid)Baie dankie vir jou input en hulp.Ek gaan nie daai V8 roete nie.Ek laaik daai idee,maar nou ja.
Ek wil eers vertel oor my soektog.Eerstens het ek besluit op n petrol enjine,6 of 8cyl.My eerste keuse,na Pierre se V8,was om n Lumina kar op te breek.Hulle is baie duur en nie beskikbaar as wrakke nie.My grootste bekommernis is die brandstof verbruik.Dit help nie die ding loop vir als weg en kan nie die volgende dorp haal nie.Ek wil ver ry en nie net om die huis nie.
Ek wil nie oldschool v8 inbou nie,hulle is volop en goedkoop.Ek het nie lus vir n carburator nie en ook nie om inspuiting op te bou nie.Ek het toe besluit om meer na die 6cyl engines te kyk.
Maar wat? n 4.8 patrol le nie rond nie,Behalwe Sias se engine.Ek soek net die enjine en Sias wil die hele lot verkoop met ratkas en so aan.Maak sin om die lot nie te breek nie.Is dan meer werd.
n 4.5 is goed,maar dan fix ek liewer my 4.2 diesel.Hy loop net so goed,met minder brandstof.So ek soek toe ander engine's.Die is ook maar skaars en ook klein.
Net toe ek besluit ek sal maar gaan vir n LS1 in jhb(n kompleet enjine sonder ecu.)val ek oor n intrresante klein reguit ses.
Sy naam is Ford XR6 4l.Die een met "variable valve timing en ook variable intake lenth"Hy maak 172kw en 388nm.in std form.Ek weet hulle raak nog beter met n mooi uitlaat en die regte mapping.Ek het al 190kw gesien op hulle.Elkgeval ek het een gekoop en gaan hom inbou en dan natuurlik sien hoe hy hom gedra.Wat ek wel weet van hom hy maak baie goeie lae rpm wringkrag,selfs beter as baie v8's.Bv maak hy meer krag as die 4l v8 series 2 LR.Hy maak meer krag as die 4.6 LR v8,maar minder wringkrag.
Ek glo die fris 4l sal my nie te sleg brandstof gee nie,maar ek sal sien.hy rev darm hoer as die diesel so behoort goed te werk voor in die nissan.
Ek weet nie van nog so n ombouing nie,maar myne sien ek baie uit na.Ek het al die engine en moet nou die ontmoeting met die ratkas doen.
Ek sal julle op hoogte hou met fotos ook.Ek het klaar vrede gemaak met die ford/nissan meng,solank hy die werk kan doen.

Eish Frans....sorry to hear about your troubles. I`ll certainly be keeping an even closer eye on my temps after reading your storey.....and will from now on stick to the speed limit if towing :lol: !!

Hey Frans, sorry to hear about your beast. Not good man.
My 4.5l is still for sale if you interested. Otherwise we are going to put it in maytoms yellow shorty. Have a potential buyer in nam for it. Hopefully going to get all my adapters together this week for ordering from Oz for the LS2 conversion. Really want it running by the end of the year.

Sterkte Frans. Nou ja net toe ek wil begin soek vir 'n diesel om die petrol rekening te verlig toe sien ek die marakas. Nou ja ek sal maar bly by die 4.8 se 5km/l.
Herbie my patrol raak glad nie warm nie, selfs al mors ek met hom in die sand en sleep my karrawaentjie. Lyk my die 4.8's is klaar gemaak.

Die ou GQ's was op 'n stadium gebadge as die Ford Maverick. So die Frod in jou wa val nie ver van die boom nie. Watter kar kom daai enjin uit, is dit 'n Falcon?

Jip,die een met die rooi tappetcover.12valve,met vairable camtiming.Hy het ook n flap in die intake om die intake lank en kort te maak deur die revrange.Sy naam is VCT Intech.Dis die engine in die laaste Falcon voor die Territory 4L.Die Territory se laaste engine is die multivale outjie met 190kw.
