Re: 1981 model Nissan Patrol for sale
The issue is going to be to try to import a secondhand vehicle into SA, currently they do not allow the importation of 2nd hand vehicles unless it falls into one of these 4 categories.
1. Current owner (has to have been registered in importer's name for more that one year while he has been living outside RSA continuously for or more than one year) and then he is not allowed to sell it in SA until one year has past.
2. It is a special interest vehicle like a Ferrari 250 GTO or the car that won the 1939 Watkins Glenn GP or something similar.
3. A classic car that not many were made of and sold in SA and is virtually unobtainable in SA.
4. Another remote possibility is that you are re-importing a second hand vehicle that was previously registered in SA and was exported from SA some time in the past.
With this vehicle you may just be lucky enough to convince the powers that be that this vehicle qualifies under condition 3, or that it was previously registered locally and you are re-importing it. They will have the vehicle's details on Natis in that case, thus qualifying under condition 4.
You will have to prove that the licence disc is paid up and current when you want to start the process.
All this is not easy, is cumbersome and not for the faint hearted, a process that can take months, involve a lot of travel to and fro and a fat wallet to start off with.

Re: 1981 model Nissan Patrol for sale
Thanks, I am well-aware of these issues.
The vehicle can run on a (game) farm, can be used for spares - the engine is runnung superbly.
This will be up to any buyer.
