Spike is correct, if the diff ratios arent changed, ie, if you put the bigger tyres on the standard diff rations, it makes the speedo pretty much bang on accurate.

With the ratio change, it does buggerup the speedo and odo by about 10%. I havent been able to accurately calculate the exact percentage difference yet (ive checked with a shitty phone app to check my speed, but I dont trust it, i need to find a gps), but, if I work on 10%, it looks like my consumption has improved by about 1km/l, but, I dont have enough data yet to really claim this just yet.

Hi Graham for consumption you can try Google maps. Although not as accurate as GPS, but you should be able to workout it out, as per the distance covered.

In the old days, we used to have these boards next to the road. At precise 1km intervals. We used those to check our odos, and those and a stopwatch to check our speedos...

It so happens Maxxis received stock. Thanks Tinus for organizing the tyres.

Didn't notice any noise compared to GY wranglers, which was a surprise. I will have to see how it affects the consumption.

Did a small trip. Drove to Harties and back via fourways. Patrol is always full with RTT and camping gear at the back. Three adults in car.

It's a bit of mountainous drive, and traffic was hectic. Recorded 5 km/l based on GPS distance. Not bad considering the conditions. Long drive I guess it will get better.

I did notice initial pull is not as it used to be. Sppedo is almost matching GPS, however ODO is definitely out, probably by 10%.

Can anyone else confirm diif ratio 4.1 conversion has seen improvement in fuel consumption.
Regards
Rahul
