Beer or coke cans are never a problem. When I want to use it to hold two medium size coffee cups, then it becomes a problem because they are not wide enough.

Note that the earlier model GRX have an inner and an outer cup holder. ie: there is an insert in the cupholder section. Clipping out the insert makes for much wider cup holders.
I'll post some photos of this later, as I'm not near my vehicle at the moment.

I see what you mean. Will test it this week. Have you never had problems cups falling over during breaking?

I've used the larger holders for coffee cups - the take away coffee cups. I've never had cups fall over during braking. But I cannot recall ever having to do a full emergency stop with cups there. I have spilled coffee on my lap whilst driving, but that was more because of my own stupidity - I never checked that the lid was on snugly. So after getting on to the Pelindaba toll road, I picked up the cup and tried to have a nice big chug of coffee which resulted in the lid coming off and most of the coffee ending up in my lap...
When it's just cool drink or water, I use the smaller "insert" cup holders, which keep the cans / bottles in snugly.

I've pulled the cup holder things from thingiverse. I'll look at printing them, but that will need to wait until after load shedding. It's big. It will take a while to print.
