The feet arrived no problem, but the actual bars are lost in transit somewhere between joeys and durbs

Is it worth putting something like neoprene tape, or flexible epoxy (http://www.pratleyadhesives.com/diy-adh ... y-wondafix) on the parts where it connects to the gutter?
I am not a huge fan of metal compressing directly to metal, purely from a scratching point of view
I do not plan of having the bars attached permanently, and to be able to adjust how far apart they are would be useful to me also
I'm leaning towards the pratleys epoxy at the moment - any words of wisdom?
