Water pipe under Intake manifold GQ

Post by Jules »

Hi All

On the GQ and I guess probably the rest of the petrol engines there is a water pipe under the Intake manifold. I think mine is very close to "moer toe" , i CANNOT GET IN THERE TO TAKE A PICTURE

Would one need to remove the whole intake manifold to get access to said rubber pipe ?

I am planning to drive with my GQ to fetch my Overlander trailer from my daughter in Centurion , did a compression as well as head test yesterday on my GQ and it passed both with flying colors but this pipe seems not so lekkor ( there is visible "aanpaksel" but no dripping of water from there when test was done ) but I rather be safe than sorry )

Jules, if you are you talking about the pipes going into the T-piece situated under the carb, I have in the past managed to replace those pipes from underneath, after removing the oil filter.

If you are talking about the little one eminating from the back of the thermostat housing, I don't think you have any chance of getting in there without pulling off the intake manifold.

Also,is it the rubber pipe or the metal fittings that are going? On mine, all those metal pipes were rusting through, but one could only tell after removing the rubber pipes.

Hoe kry ons hom by jou? Kan ek hom vir jou postnet-to-postnet stuur?
