Awesome...thanks....much appreciated! You have a very understanding wife!Pieter du Toit wrote:Hi SRXySRXy wrote:That's incredible! Well done guys! Awesome job there. It's really amazing to see that engine in so many pieces. Congrats!![]()
Can you post what the part numbers for the 24V conversion were? So that if anyone has to do this in the future they can can easily get the info. I'm going to be replacing my clutch soon and I'm going to replace the engine and gearbox mounts. Did you replace the engine mounts with TD42 ones? Are they the same as the ZD30's engine mounts? It would be cool if you could also post the part numbers for those mounts.
I promise once the project is finished I will compile a thorough list of all the parts (original as well as after market) used, where sourced etc etc. I am keeping a tight spreadsheet in order to know what the conversion will cost me at the end of the day.
In order to answer your one question re the mounts - no they are not the same as the ZD30's. Not only do you need to find a set of TD42 chassis mounts - they also sit on a different location on the chassis. That's why we cut the ZD30's mounts off and welded the new chassis mounts in place. Frans was fortunate enough to source those for me from somewhere - I bought the original 2 x TD42 engine mounts from Nissan - this part number being 11220VB000. They were R1593-06.
But once done I will post a more detailed parts list - all I can say it is amazing what you can find for our cars with a bit of trouble and phoning around in terms of parts - and compared to the pricing of the Stealers. For instance - the 12V starter - R2100-00 (aftermarket) compared to the Stealers R9781-61!!!! The TD42 engine overhual gasket set - Stealers @ R4598-33 - Masterparts @ R1071-69!!!! And so I can carry on giving you comparisons!!
Watch this space - I will do that parts list - pity we can't paste / upload Excel spreadsheets - then I could have loaded mine which already contains all the information!! Come on Moderators - there's a challenge for you - how about the ability to post spreadsheets / pdf files in the near future.

Pieter, dis al weer 2 dae later en nog steeds geen "update" nie. Ons begin wonder of jou ZD30 werklik opgepak het en of jy regtig besig is met 'n 4.2 TD ombouing.
