Thanks Mark, Do you have the VIN "F" or L65 series from Detroit Diesel? Some of them came out with retarder/engine brake / exhaust brake, but AFAIK not on the Suburbans. That would be a nice to have on a 4x4, and it should not be that difficult to retrofit. Re. the 4.5, a key consideratio...

Witblits. I have the luxury of 2 Patrols. 1 has a modified 4.2 Diesel with 35inch tyres. The other is a stock 98 4.5 Petrol . .. . . I have a spare 6.5 turbo diesel engine from a Chev Suburban project and i am keen on putting that in the 4.5's place
