Howzit All - Should have done this about a year ago just kept on putting it off. That being said, I plan to make a bit more effort on the actual forum! details below:
1. Name: Full Name:
Kyle Edward Reeves - Kyle
2. Birthday and Age:
26th of August, 27
3. Town and Country of residence:
Western Cape, Cape Town
4. Home Language:
English
5. Occupation/Business:
Planning manger at Cape Union Mart
6. Family status:
Married
7. Membership - Other 4X4 Clubs and Forums:
Don't belong to any official clubs. Just the 4x4 community forum as well as the Western Cape Patrol group
8. Current 4x4:
2006 4.8 GL (Manuel), 150K on the clock as of October 2020
9. Current Mods:
2 inch OME coils, with OME shocks in front, foam cell in the rear. ARB front bar, Ironman snorkel, Burnco rear bar with swing arm, Burnco rocksliders, VHF, built in, replaced main tank with long range fuel tank, skid plates and recovery points by Burnco, dual battery system with DC2DC, DIY draw system with water tank + solar, 3 inch SS exhaust system, vision X spotlights - other small things
10. Mods on wish list:
Front diff guard, slimline roof rack, -12 offset alloy rims, 33 muddies ( currently running AT's)
11. Vehicle on wish list:
Currently own my dream vehicle to be honest
12. Previous 4x4's:
08 3TD hardbody - was a awesome vehicle
13. Last 3 offroad or overland destinations:
in order:
- 4 day West coast trip, which can be viewed here :
- Leeuwenboschfontein
- Welgelegen
14. Your favourite destination:
Does our entire country count? I love the Khalahari, the Tankwa, the West Coast, all for their own and unique reasons. As long as its basic, primitive and in nature!
15. Other hobbies:
Avid hunter, hiker, diving, shooting and drinking
16. GPSr and Map Data used:
T4A mainly paper maps, looking to get a decent PND soon for our upcoming Namaqua eco trail trip
17. Rate your 4X4 and overlanding experience:
Always a tricky question to answer as its subjective based on knowledge and experience of those in your group / friends. Its also two very different skill sets IMO.
Would classify myself as 6/10. Comfortable doing normal grade 3- 4's (again subjective) but could benefit a lot from sitting in and observing experienced drivers in their approach to obstacles which I would shy away from. Understanding your vehicle is also key and I recognize that I still have much to learn!
18. Online Photo Site:
N/A just have a YouTube account where i post very armature videos
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD8iAJ ... subscriber
19. Photos of you and your Vehicle:
I have attached them - hope they pull through.
Lekker boys - hope to meet most of you at the 70th year party next year! As mentioned, I'm not a massive "forum fan" but certainly see the value in it and as such will make a conscious effort to add value where I can - probably will need more help and advice than anything else though
cheers!
