So after some shopping I found a Patrol to make my own.I will surely start on the motor transplant this week and after that there will be many mods to come as money allow it with time.First mod to do was some 35s and a set of mags that i won on this years ruste winter jamboree.Wel easier said than done.First took a rim and fitted on the trol but as usual nothing ever fits first time with anything i want to do.So problem solving 101 comes to hand.So I took one of the rims to one of my client's that has an engineering shop and he took one look at it and said yep bring them we will make a jig clamp in the cnc mill and cut the centers bigger.Right now one problem is solved gave Tinus a call and said i need a buyer for the standard rims and tyres and guess what yep he sold them the same day.Tinus gave me Charles's number i made a phone call and ordered a set of 35x12.5R17 tyres and they arrived on Saturday morning took a short trip to collect them and had them fitted this morning.

the only reason the rim did not fit flush to the hub as the fact that the hub has a small 2mm ( I think) radius that stops the rim from sitting flush on the face of the hub. All that needed to be done was just a slight chamfer to allow the rim to pass over the hub radius. Those rims do look damn good, and with the tyres on.... .Hmmmmm very nice indeed

Hi Ricster they actually had a 5mm recess in from factory to make room for a spigot ring if i take off a rim some time during the build i will post some pics the problem came in at the front the center hole wasn't large enough to go over the locking hub part.

So today took the hole day to take out the 4.5(normally it should take 4 hours) but got a bit of a flu and feeling like

but its out at least the next job is to take time and clean everything and then the 4.2 is ready to go in.

Cool. What starter motor are you using?
Mine starts this weekend...

My understanding is that the standard one (as used in the TB45) works, but the "correct" starter for the TD42 is a different unit with a three-bolt mounting pattern.
To fit it, the bell-housing needs a small mod, grinding away a boss and drilling a third hole (there is material in the pattern).
