Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Has anyone done this route since the cyclone and floods in Mozambique? How is the road is it passable?
In 4x2?
In 4x4?
Not even a patrol can make it?

I tried that route many years back, sadly couldn't make it through the Limpopo river at Mapai, as the water level was quite high. Maybe the Pafuri camp office would be able to give you the best info for this part of the journey, as I think trying to speak to anyone at the border post would be somewhat pointless.

Please keep us posted on how this trip goes, as I'd love to do this in the future.

That is really helpful information. Thank you. The other vehicle is a 4x2 (diehard says 4x4 is for wimps) so I am not sure if it can make it. I still have to try and persuade him.
