Ordered double din split screen unit

So I have ordered the following unit

https://www.navshopsa.co.za/product/s16 ... an-patrol/ - but the latest model s200 with Android 8, GPS, reverse camera, DVD, etc etc

The touch screen will replace the useless holder in the dashboard and the double din will go where it is meant to be.

Should get it next week sometime and will then install and post pictures.

This is what I bought and fitted in my Pathfinder. Absolutely fantastic and works perfectly with with the steering control buttons. The best part is the PRICE!!!!!

I am buying one to fit in my Patrol as well, the one (aftermarket) currently installed in the Patrol is pathetic...

That is such good news. I was worried about having issues. Can you share some pics. The price is steep, including installation, reverse camera and 3 year warranty, I have peace of mind. The unit is cheaper over the internet, but I didn't want to take a chance in case I need support for issues.

I am also installing some other gadgets this December - automatic head light control, automatic side mirror closing. Already have installed LED lights and heated seats switches...

Your's is basically an on-board PC with Android operating system like I previously had in the Pathfinder. It was a much older Android operating system and not a very sophisticated chip-set. It was one of the earlier ones and could connect to the internet for emails and google etc. I paid R5 or 6k for it in 2013!! It did work well but all the features were actually over-the-top. I did not even use most of them. Worst of all, it did not have a decent MP3 player. All it could do was play it in sequence off the media (USB, SC card or a CD) in the order it was loaded on the media. I had to download a feature rich MP3 player from the internet and install it on the unit, and even then there were issues, like having to create playlists

Twice that system on the unit froze and I had to remove the unit to have the operating system reloaded. When it happened the second time (early 2017) the operating system was totally outdated and I instead went and bought a double din sound system with a screen display that could play MP3/ MP4s with USD and SC card input systems.

It is a LOT cheaper and does not have an operating system that can become outdated. I do not really need to connect to the internet in my car, I can do that on my phone, which get renewed (with newer Android) every second year, courtesy MTN!!

It looks from the literature that yours is a lot more sophisticated and these things have come a long way since I originally bought my Android system like that . BEST OF LUCK!! I a sure you will like it and get many years of good service from it. It will be a far cry from the models fitted by Nissan that still run off paraffin!!!

Thought it was time for an update on the stereo system:

(First off - stay away from Navshop.co.za. After getting one excuse after the next, and doing some more research about this "company", I cancelled my ordered immediately and had to fight for a month to get my refund...)

Back to the internet I went in January this year and found a Chinese unit through a contact. Imported, and received it during a business trip abroad and installed it in February. Works a charm with GPS, front camera/DVR, AV outputs, etc. etc.
Wiring was done neatly by creating my own "looms".

Next part is to upgrade the speakers and install subwoofer, but not a requirement for now.

I think it’s an android unit, so the chances are not. Maybe mirroring?
