Patrol P1612 and P0000 OBD codes

I experience an occasional hiccup with my Patrol when starting it, usually first thing in the morning. It is a 2004 4.8.
Some times when I start the car, the cluster doesn't work for a few minutes after starting the car. No speedo, rev counter, temperature or fuel level indication. Only the warning lights work. Oddly central locking is also inoperative. After a few minutes I hear a click from the engine bay I think, sounds like a relay has engaged, and everything comes on.
In diagnostic mode I get P1612 and P0000.
Google says the following:
P1612 NISSAN - Chain of ECM-IMMU
Possible causes
Faulty or not programmed ignition key
Faulty IMMU
Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
P1000 - On Board Diagnostic System Readiness Test Not Complete
Possible causes
The vehicle is new from the factory.
Battery or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) had recently been disconnected.
An OBD monitor failure occurred before completion of an OBD drive cycle.
PCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) have recently been cleared with a scan tool.
If this happens a few times in a row the cluster stays dead until I disconnect and reconnect the battery. The literature does say the immobiliser locks the system after five failed attempts at finding a valid transponder. Another forum also hinted that other transponders in the vicinity could also cause problems. But I am not aware of anything else of that nature in the car.
I have yet to try the spare key to see if it is not perhaps just the transponder.
Has anyone ever experienced this? Your ideas would be appreciated.
Regards
Paul
