Fender Flair Strips

Hi All

I am about to strip my fenders off the Patrol to apply a Polyurethane coating. The strips between the fender flair and the body however is in a bad shape and will not be going back on the car. Seeing as I am going with black on the flairs now would Sikaflex suffice as a "filler" between the flair and the body?

Thanks

Jacques

Buy proper trim beading. Cheap as chips from "Pro Auto Rubber".

There are details on this here: http://patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?f= ... 4&start=20

Thought the moment there was kinks and sharp bends in the flairs you had to go with OEM product which is more molded to the shape. So I assume the universal stuff is quite pliable to follow the sharper kinks?

Yes - if you read my post, you will see that fitting it was not all "maanskyn en rose". But it works well and it can follow relatively sharp kinks. The only kinks it could not follow were those on the rear wheel arches where it makes an almost 90 degree bend where the back door comes in. I solved this by cutting two pieces with 45 degree angles and joining them up at the 90 degree bit.

And I've had it on for several years now without issues. :salute: :salute:
