On the TD42 engine that I am putting in my patrol, there is this diaphragm that opens with vacuum which operates a butterfly inside the inyake manifold. As it was not connected to anything when I got the engine, i dont know where it is suppose to connect to nor what its purpose is. The engine is originally from a UD40 truck. When vacuum is applied to it it closes the air intake and when vacuum is released it opens again. Please assist

Wdward, I have rebuild a UD40 motor before, but cant really remember how this device looked and worked.
I think this is just a butterfly that closes when the engine js switched off (similar to the zd30). You can just remove it or leave it disconected......... its not needed
