1999 GU Patrol 4.2D GL

I'm posting on behalf of my neighbour.
His Land Rover Discovery 3 developed the infamous crank snapping problem.
So his friend lent him one of his spare 4x4's to use until he gets his Disco back.
The owner has now decided he wants to sell the Patrol.

Look, I'll be brutally honest here, because I don't want anyone to have the wool pulled over their eyes.
She's pretty rough, but still runs like a champ.
I see the vehicle every day and I've helped to point out and do some work on it for my neighbour.
For a vehicle that's had a bit of a hard life with +460 000km ,that motor runs even smoother and quieter than mine, and I know for a fact my Patrol was and is meticulously maintained. It's just a testament to how amazing these motors were designed that they can take the punch and still go forever.
Everything works fine otherwise on the vehicle.

I think this vehicle is a prime candidate for a project vehicle to convert into :
- Challenge vehicle
- Game viewer
- Dedicated bush beat around
- Cab cut to double cab tray back
The reason I say this is because the rear quarter panels have some serious cracking happening like it's body filler cracking out.
She's also got a few "battle scars", but nothing that can't be sorted out.
A full respray is in this vehicle's immediate future, I'd say.

At the end of the day I thought it best to put the details up and maybe someone will be looking for just such a vehicle.

The vehicle's details are :
1999 Nissan Patrol GU Y61 4.2D GL
468 000km
New injectors
Brand new Frontrunner Wind Cheetah aluminium roof rack
New Maxxis Bighorn tires
Custom bar work all round the vehicle - and quite honestly the strongest designed rock sliders I've ever seen (the photos don't do them justice).

R 70 000 neg

Call Herman (owner in GP) on 082 445 3301

The vehicle is in Port Elizabeth at the moment.

A few more pics.

Also just bare in mind the photos were taken a few weeks ago when the Patrol first arrived here, and it has had a fair whack done to it since to clean it up and make it more presentable.

Yip. I test drove it about 4 months ago. Motor, drivetrain, gearbox were sweet. Absolutely no oil leaks from anywhere. Body and some of the interior needs TLC.

It's only been here at the coast for a few weeks while the Disco was being stripped down and rebuilt.
I'm sure Dawid Volskenk has a shell that can be used for the cab cut (for back section).
It runs great but it is rough.
It belongs to Engel on SA4x4 community forum.

Jip, Herman's & a good car. Metal work was designed by Herman & Cam used it as well. Solid motor & drivetrain; this is a good project.
