I know conversions aren't everybody's cup of tea, but this is worth a look especially if the job was done right.

The 3UZ is a really strong powerplant.

Just remember that the 16000km is not true as you have no idea how many kms it had on it when landed from Japan, but that being said they normally have between 60k-80k as a rule of thumb.

I recon R175 is still too high (R150k - R160k max), but it has some nice extras.

Regards

JP

This is my take on a car with an engine conversion.

1. An engine conversion is a huge job if you want to get everything right and working the way it worked before the conversion.

2. therefore a proper conversion can be very expensive . I would say between 50 and 100 TR +

3. Assuming you went through all the effort and expense to get it right.... why would you want to sell the car after such a comparatively short time i.e 16.000 km ?

4. There is than also the question of the actual mileage of the car as well of the engine ?

5. The last point to consider is that the main components of a vehicle i.e. engine gearbox, diff, cooling system etc. have been fine tuned to each other. Putting an engine into a vehicle which has not been originally designed for this vehicle can lead to mismatch like too high reffs in a certain gear etc.

:salute:

Agree with Henning. Anybody who sells a conversion shortly after the conversion is admitting that there are issues.

The most dangerous of those probably being cooling system related, as it is unlikely to be found during a test drive.

It all depends on that little word "if"....

There is a complete td42 avaliable for 65k and allow some change for bits and pieces.....get 75k of that selling price then it starts to look like a plan....

Tinus,

What you propose is based on the assumption that this conversion was indeed botched.
Secondly, besides the money, there is work and risks involved in any conversion, including the one you are proposing.
