Patrol Power

I've been spending weekends assisting a friend in getting a butchery up and running. The previous owner defaulted on the rent, rocked up in the middle of the night and removed all the equipment and similar, and then disappeared. In the meantime, this has been very bad for the rest of his business, as well as the rest of the businesses in the complex.

One of the issues he's had has been a massive irrigation trailer standing in the back loading area of the butchery. We needed to get it out of the way asap last week Saturday, due to the fact that we needed to get some stuff done around at the back of the butchery. What made this difficult, was the size (I imagine the thing weights a few tons) as well as the fact that of the four wheels the trailer has, two have been stolen, and the remaining two are flat.

I was busy sorting out the alarms and similar inside the butchery, when the guy with the red Isuzu decided his bakkie would not get the thing shifted. I was later called out, and the question was posed: "Is die Patrol sterk ?". How could I resist.

Strapped it all up safely, engaged low range and just idled the thing out of where it was. Engine revs did not go over 1000, and did not even slip at all..

I know: Pics or it did not happen. Sadly, my friends forgot to take photos during the action, so this is all after it was wrapped up, sort of...

Oh... I forgot to add two things.

1: I have a "pintle-type" towbar (the one with the removable pin). The trailer was towed from the pin part - not from the ball. Before I get any flak from that.

2: I should have titled the thread "Petrol Power".... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Yip you should have said "petrol power".... If it was a diesel, you would never had revved it so high.... I mean gees, 1000RPM for that little trailer :rolling:

Just pulling your leg, nicely done .

When we do stuff like that, and the other oke does not have low range, it always looks way more impressive.

But sometimes you do need them revs a bit higher, even with a diesel  ... :surprised:

Few months ago I pulled this truck out of our receiving bay. To add to it, the right rear wheel where locked up due to failed bearings... Diesel power.
