Hi 'ANY ONE"
I'm due to go to Botswana on Saturday, washed my Patrol's engine and now it splutters and spurt's and cannot for some reason get enough fuel or air.
Pleas send me the mechanic in PTA's number

James, in the meantime make sure the plugs and wires are dry.
Also make sure all the electrical plugs are dry. It helps unplugging them and blowing them with compressed air.

Hm, did you have a look at the lead cables and especially the distributor? If any of these have water somewhere where it doesn't belong, you'll have a problem.
Maybe it is the distributor, as you won't have bigger issues if only one lead cable has a short, I think.

After a carwash some years back, my engine was only running on 6 out of 8 cylinders.
I thought the Nissan straight six engines were more resistant to taking in water from above.
