Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Hi all,

My name is Rhett, joined a few months ago but have not posted yet. So a quick intro is due:

Benoni born and bred, but live for off-roading and seeing beautiful Africa. 30-something, married, no kidlets.
Current Patrol is a 2004 4.8, standard, except for a full length roof rack, BF Goodrich tyres (275/70/R16), and a dual battery setup with solar panel functionality for the beer fridge. WWW
Soft-roader for short trips is a 2005 Nissan Xtrail 4x4, with a slightly higher and stiffer suspension mod.
Daily drive is a a Citi Golf, as I can't afford to run the other two every day!!
Swambo and I do a couple trips every year, mainly Moz and Nam, and locally anywhere within a days drive from JHB.

Anyway, any questions or advice on trips are most welcome.
