The long soft ones. Anyone know if there are any available locally for the GU series?

Don't know what you are talking about, but the Patrol's bumps stops are already progressive...

Its a long soft rubber setup that looks a bit like the Michelin mand and with a hollow centre. A cup is then welded to the top of the axle. The bung is contact with the exle most of the time. When there's a shock it slows the down slowly so there's never a "bang" effect. Have them on my old Discovery and they work like a total dream.

Are you talking about these?
They were standard on the GU's as far as I know.....well in front at least

Yes but look at the back. (?)
FWIW, the ones I have on the front aren't quite the same.

I must get for the front of my Iron Maiden !!!!! Been without them for years and I stress a little under full flex !!!!!

I would worry less about full flex than hitting a ditch / big hole at speed. Or maybe there's something I don't understand. :-)

Clem, with the rear spring mount being one of very few known weak points on the Patrol, I would seriously recommend not feeding the bump-stop loads through them as well?
The standard rear bump stops already have reasonable travel and are very progressive.

Thank you Peter. I've never the rear (or front AFAIK) bumps stops yet even under heavy load when hitting major potholes at speed. That machine really has a suspension second to none! I will leave well enough alone then.
