24V starter...

Would this engine be from a truck maybe?

I have looked at the pic of the engine, but have never seen this engine before. As far as I know the TD42 engine has always looked the same and this one does not look like a TD42.
The TD42 in the trucks are the same as the ones in the Patrols JP, so they should look the same.

Maybe one of the more experienced Patrol owners can verify this?

Added to this, this is a Safari, thus the TD42 is not an original engine.

I am definitely not an expert, but this looks like an LD28 to me.

I think this is the 3.3L R6 diesel engine if I had to bet money.

Attached is a comparison between the one in the add and a real R6 engine (thanks to Google)

Yeah.... very difficult to tell exactly, but looking at the tappet cover, it is as Michael says, and the aircon compressor is where the alternator should be on a TD42, not sure on a R6. If it is a TD42 motor..... for R12K..... I'd snap it up in a flash..... now I just need some cash !!!
