Hoisting a Patrol

Guys, with the Y61, using a hoist to lift all four wheels at the same so that the suspension hangs - does it cause any damage to the machine?
Land Rover had a statement against but it never seemed to do any real harm.

Mine has been hoisted like this many times, and I don't know of any damage.

Thanks Peter. As I said Land Rover manual (at least my Disco 1 one) warned against it. Only things I can think of are: could hang on the shocks; rubber bushes may not like it; maybe the slip joint could slip out.
Anyway, ek gaan maar aan. :-)

Any of those things happen as a result of slightly-heavy off-road use on a regular basis, and should really not cause any problems.
The only thing I can really think is that they might be worried about the chassis bending due to the loads being fed into places that were not designed for that.
Certainly a Defender chassis looks strong enough, but I have never looked at a Disco chassis carefully.

Disco is also a ladder frame and pretty damn strong. Well, a Disco 1 anyway.
