Your advice please.

I am considering changing my rims :

As far as I know the 2001 Patrol has a PCD of 139.7 with a center bore of 110

The rims I am looking at have a PCD of 139 and a center bore of 108.

Widening the center bore from 108 to 110 should be possible without compromising the integrity of the rim.

What concerns me is the PCD difference 139.7 vs 139.0

0.7 mm sounds very little but I think this dimension is critical and I would therefore decide not to go for the rim in question

I very much doubt they do have a PCD of 139.0, as I know of no cars with such a PCD. I think they just rounded off incorrectly.

I don't know how PCDs are determined;
Is it a free for all (OEMs) or is it predetermined standardized dimension.

I can confirm the 139.7 PCD for the Patrol.
The 139.0 on the aftermarket Rim is just a supplier spec.

So if YOU say you are not aware of any 139.00 than that is what it most likely is.

To put your mind at ease , most tyre and wheel companys don't quote to the fraction of a milimetre , but to the last full milimetre . That's why they quote 139mm and not 140mm .
Enjoy your new wheels ! Now go four wheeling just for the enjoyment of testing your new wheels !!

Henning, it is free for the manufacturer to decide.

However, most manufacturers follow "standardized" sizes, as it makes manufacturing cheaper.

By the way, 139.7 is actually 5.5 inches. But the manufacturing tolerance on the PCD is probably in the region of + or - 1mm (particularly on pressed-steel rims it may be even more than this), so the 139.7 is only a nominal size anyway. I have measured as much as 2-3mm differences on wheel PCDs.

Thus you will be fine.
