Worried your current Diesel motor won't last Buy a petrol!!!!

Naaa....mine will last forever.... I would like to play with one of these 4.2 diesels and build it to push out the kind of Kw and NM that the Aussies produce..... just a little more actually. These motors are incredibly robust and with the correct modifications and a little piano wiring and beef up the water reticulation, I think a monster motor can be eased into another Patrol.

We'll call it my midlife crisis toy.....

Aaar but as I said why not just buy a BIG petrol motor and you have all that power already on tap?????

You are still comparing aspirated diesel to non aspirated petrol.
The Arabs get 1000hp+ out of petrols once aspirated and well adjusted. I for one, on the other hand have 350 NM at 1,200 revs and 450 NM at 4500 revs (and smooth progression inbetween). Therefore us petrolheads do not really need aspiration. If we add it, we do so for fun not out of necessity!

absolutely.... but power and reliability with some decent fuel consumption that can come from a diesel me thinks. Granted it won't be 1000Hp.... just 990....
