Great was my shock when I drove past a second hand car spot around the corner from my home and noticed a very nice Safari for sale.

I stopped, but the person dealing with the vehicle was not there. As such, I have no clues on the details.

Yes... the roofrack is terrible. But the safari itself is in incredible nick for something that old. Kilos seem to be a bit above 330k from what I could see peering through the windscreen. Also, it is diesel, but no further idea on size and similar.

They want R45k.

Pictures are not good. I will take more on Monday when the truck is not in storage area.

I wonder if that is the RD28 diesel. I don't know if they used the TD42 motor in the "Datsun" Safari models.

I've been wanting to hear what the details are regarding the vehicle. I'm not intereasted in buying it - but just relatively curious. The vehicle is in very good condition. Yes - there are niggles. Peering in through the window, one can see the interior trim is showing a bit of age (for example, the faux-leather cover on the centre console appears to be cracking a bit). I think that is to be expected - considering the age (not that I know the age either - but I assume it is pretty old). I've just not had a chance to get the specifications and things. If I get an opportunity to stop by when someone is there who is knowledgable about the vehicle is there, I will do so and get some details.

Cut off the roof, leave the rack, add a canvass, a couple rows of raised seats, and you have a very nice game view vehice!

Yo ho Cedric .. The 4,2 only came with the GQ series .. The Safari only had the 2,8 Petrol and 2,8 Diesel enjins .. Never the 4,2.
In Europe the also had the 3,0 diesel enjins which we never had in SA.

pictures look GOOD .. same as THOR but with the gold on the lower panels..

At R31,000 with only 300,000 on the clock, that is helluva tempting.
Only issue may be rust, being from Hibiscus, South Coast...But at that price, given the pictures, how bad can it be?

Edit: 350,000km.
Needs a paint job, at least on the bonnet, and inside not terribly well looked after.
But if no rust, then its a steal.

If I had room to park another one I would buy it. But SWAMBO says one is enough!
