Good idea, bad idea?
Will the transmission handle it?

I run a 6.0 litre V8 with close on 300kw but with a manual box and have had no issues.
In the Arab states they are pushing 1100 plus kw for dune racing, but I'm not sure what transmission they use.

I think they sometimes use Allison transmissions. But i did see alot there running HUGE power on standard Patrol Gearbox. Incredible.

Awesome!
Wonder what the conversion costs.

Dunno too much about the Patrol gearboxes, but if they're anywhere near as strong as the Nissan z gearboxes you should be OK
Roughly half the guys I know with 350z/370z cars run supercharger/turbo kits (me included). The supercharged z's make about 250-275 kW on their wheels, while the twin turbo cars run 300-325 kW wheel power at the same low boost (0.5 bar).
The standard z clutches are rated at 600 Nm - almost double the standard engine's output and they cope well with the bolt-on performance kits. I've never heard of anybody with gearbox issues as a result of a conversion. Supercharger conversions are generally easier on gearboxes, since they do not build as much torque at low revs as turbos do.
Your brakes won't last as long (because you'll be accelerating faster, you're usually braking from a higher speed), and neither will your tires (uhm... uhh... you know why!). Also be aware that superchargers are heavier on fuel. since they use a substantial amount of the energy they generate to spin themselves (as opposed to a turbo that uses "free" exhaust gases). That 4.8 will have to attend weekly AA meetings to curb its drinking habits
If the Patrol is similarly over-engineered (why would it not?) you should not experience any catastrophic failures. And t rust me - 235 kW of wheel power is very achievable and will definitely transform the vehicle!

R115k inc. Double power, double the torque. Should make for a decent towing vehicle (without having to rev the snot out of it)? But the free flow air filter and filter box...naah, not for me. I've seen what those things do in very dusty conditions.
