Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Hi guys . I drove from witsand to graaf reinet . 600 km , then my troll , 30td , started ooverheating , egt almost 700 . Also lost power drasticly going up steep passes , i,m tatalking doing 60 kmph at 3000 rpm , car also started jerking and hiccuping . Madman showed overboost and high oil temp , high coolant temp . I now have to drive a further 1300 km . Nearest nissan dealer aliwal north 150 km . Any advice please . Spoke to frans already .

Also talk to Graham Cumming. I hope its not too bad.

Hows your air filter ?? maybe a loose air intake pipe??

Check the radiator for blockages from seeds etc.... I recall having a lot of seeds stuck in my radiator after our trip to Witsand

hi guys, I have just driven from Lusaka Zambia to Joburg. as soon as we hit the open road and tried to stick to 115km per hour the engine temp started raising and the fuel efficiency dropped to 5km/ltr. by the time we got to joburg we were going in reverse at the sight of an uphill. I can't say that there is excessive black smoke but the exhaust temp is uncomfortably high. any suggestions?

btw... I am driving a 1996 td42 Y60

i) head gasket leak
ii) micro crack in heads
iii) injectors out of callibration
iv) over fuelling
v) radiator cap warn
vi) thermostat murtu
vii) bottom radiator hose collappses [mainly during climbs uphill .. ]
viii) radiator blocked
ix) dirty filters
x) you forgot to release the hand brake
