Looks pretty standard... Check the motor. If it has a silver tappet cover and a vacuum pump on the alternator. If it does, vat hom vinnig, cause that motor can handle a turbo better than all the other TD42's. Does it have a turbo on already?.... If so what kind ( Safari Turbo )? If Safari, koop hom n tweede keur. That body still looks good and even though 406 000 Km is a lot of Km on that motor, you should be good to go on it. Even if you open the motor and replace rings and bearings ( and check sleeves for wear ) it will then last you another 400 000 Km.

Price is all about how desperate the seller is to sell, but Grants Patrol is probably worth about R90 000 ( as stock standard without all the extras ) as there is no book value on it as it is an import ST 4.2 Patrol. Andre has red SGL like this one, and I would say that because of them being VERY rare 70 - 80 is probably fair price.

But I hope you aren't going to cut the heart out of that piece of brilliant Nissan Engineering !!!!! :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: .... and fit it into your "mal trokkie"

WAIT !!!!........WAIT!!!!!........ Whooooo hooooooo...... Theuhan.... you have found one of the Holy Grails of 4.2 diesels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :surprised: :surprised: :surprised:

If I look closely at the photo, on the left side below the back window, it looks like it says "ST 4.2". Phone Grant and ask him about the "ST" !!! If I recall what Grant told me, there were something like 4 "ST 4.2" imported into SA

I think Grant can give you more info than I can

Says on the advert "Gauteng, Cullinan, Alberton North",..... I stay in Alberton, but I've never heard of Cullinan in Alberton....haha. Maybe I must phone !!

Hi Ricster, I magnified the picture and can only see Patrol 4x4 under the left hand rear window. Where should I be looking. On the other one in Cullinan, its too blured to read.

The mags and rear bumper also looks like an import.....

I had a look at it yesterday, it is a non-turbo, it is a ST, and it had work done to the left rear door, and the left rear panel needs to be redone, so we are looking at R5000.00 for paint if you work on R2500.00/ panel.
The dash is cracked in one place, and the interior door handels also needs to be reworked R3000.00
The motor pulls strong, has a bit of backlash on the diff, nothing major and the shocks are gone.

So for R20 000.00 your paint, interior, mechanical and suspention should be sorted.

So hopefully the seller is not reading this thread! :rolling:
Else Theuhan may not get as good a deal
