open cable end - any ideas?

Good morning!
I 'found' a cable just next to my battery which obviously has no use anymore as all electric appliances in the car are working properly.
Does anybody have a clue, what that cable might be / have been for?

It is black so normally it might have been a earth cable it looks like old winch wire or brad harrison on tow bar? Mabe even a fridge plug at the back? Have you tried to trace it ? It may also been there if a previous owner had a big amp in the car.??? Follow it and see where it goes to

Whoa, time flies....
I had a look: the cable goes to the very end of the car and terminates in a socket right next to the trailer coupling.
So it had something to do with whatever special on a trailer.

Mystery solved

Good to hear... :salute:
Mabe use it for connecting stuff when camping?
Put a pick so we can see is it a brad harrison?

That's a Brad Harrison plug on the right. Question-where is the red cable?

Is it not the red cable with in-line fuse holder lying on top of the battery?

I think I remember the cable going through from the batterie's distributor way into the plug in the back.
I will follow up when I am down in SA again.
